Career Dimensions, Inc is committed to protect your privacy. We work diligently to protect confidentiality, restrict transfer of personal data, incorporate technical safeguards and appropriate security policies, and identify privacy implications in new services. To that end, we would like you to know how we protect the personal information you entrust to us.
Our primary goal is to safeguard the information about our users. To meet this end, sensitive information about our users is encrypted in our database. Web based transactions utilize the hypertext transfer protocol secure (https) which is a variant of the standard web transfer protocol (http) that adds a layer of security while the data is in transit by using a secure socket layer (ssl) protocol connection.
Career Dimensions will never sell or share information with vendors, marketers, or other clients.
All users using our application have the right to access their personal data, correct errors, and if desired, delete their entire user record. Users have the right to download their information for their personal use.
Data We Collect
To create an account you need to provide data including your name, email address (optional), a username you create, and a password. Our application requires the use of strong passwords. Passwords must be refreshed if an account is inactive for a period of more than 6 months. In addition you will be asked to make choices to questions created by the licensee of the application such as “Year of Graduation”, “are you using the application for a class”, “who is your advisor”, etc. The licensee, typically an educational consultant, middle school, high school, community college, 4-year college or university, or government agency, uses this information to organize users in our database, and to run aggregate reports about the cohorts using the application.
Note – The licensee has the option of collecting additional demographic information about its users which would also be stored on the Career Dimensions Server. This includes address, and phone number.
Device and Location
When you visit, we receive the URL of the site you came from, and when you leave our site you are directed to a page specified by our licensee (if applicable). We also get information about your IP address, proxy server, operating system, web browser, device identifier and features, and/or ISP or your mobile carrier.
Data We Do Not Collect
Career Dimensions never collects information about race, ethnicity, gender, religion, health, biometrics, political opinions, philosophical beliefs, or sexual orientation.
Storage of Data
All data is stored in a relational database on SQL Server. Our servers are housed in a secure data center located in Newton, Massachusetts.
Access to Data
As an end user you have access to all data we collect. The licensee and their assignees can also view your data. The staff of Career Dimensions will never view your data unless such action is requested verbally or in writing by the individual user, or licensee.
Should the licensee terminate their contract with Career Dimensions, the licensee is asked to perform the task of deleting all user data prior to the termination of the contract. If the licensee fails to complete this task, the staff of Career Dimensions will perform this task on their behalf within 30 days after termination of contract.
